Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for the human body, as it plays an important role in the functioning of the immune system and in the process of wound healing. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C also helps to stimulate the production of white blood cells, which are responsible for fighting infections. In the process of wound healing, vitamin C helps to form collagen, a protein that is essential for the formation of new tissue.
