Developed in 2000 , the Missing Kids site (as used in Coursework 2) is a centralised database of data on missing children around the world. Data must be entered by reporting authorities into an online form . Searches of case details requires the use of an on-line search form. The site might be termed a Web 1.0 'information silo' because information can only be created and accessed via the site's web interface. A system designed today might look quite different. In Kids 2.0, cases would be exchanged between agencies, cases would searchable and retrievable using an API, cases plotted in time and space to provide visual searching, information on cases submitted by the public using Web 2.0 technologies. a) Explain briefly each of the following technologies and explain, with examples , how and why the technology could be used in this project i.
